The Tekken World Tour 2023 is the fifth season of Tekken tournaments and will feature offline Master+, Master, and Challenger levels of tournaments as its main events, and will award points for the circuit’s global leaderboard.

In addition to this, Dojo events will also make a return, giving points based on the number of participants in the event.

Players will be categorized according to the highest total points acquired by them at their top placing Master+ events, highest total points at their top-two finishing Master events, top-three finishing Challenger events, and top-four finishing Dojo events.

Players are allowed to enter and can play any number of Master, challenger and Dojo events from any region.

Worthy to note is that for the first time in history, Africa has been listed as one of the offline locations for the tour, this presents Africans the opportunity to participate physically in the event unlike before when they were limited to online participation.

The first challenger event in Africa is set to kick off at Paradise Games in Ivory Coast, West Africa, with an event themed “Game Battle” in Abidjan on the 20th and 21st of May, 2023 where gamers will compete for points and the player with the highest points will win a prize of $1,000 from Bandai Namco Entertainment.

This news makes it evident that Esports is gradually gaining momentum in Africa after it’s been said that the continent is lagging in its recognition of the industry.
