We love to celebrate achievements here at Nexal gaming community and we are thrilled to inform you if you haven’t heard, that an esports team in Nigeria has been verified by FIFA.
Quintus Gaming, an esports organization dedicated to introducing and promoting esports while fusing it into the culture of Nigeria and Africa at large, announced via social media that they had been verified by FIFA on Sunday, 24th of October 2021, making them the first team in Nigeria to achieve this.
What this means for them, is that FIFA now recognizes Quintus Gaming as an esports team from Nigeria; which allows them to participate in gaming tournaments/events set up by FIFA, this also provides a larger scope for them as they now have the means to interact and compete against some of the best esports teams in the world.
According to them, it takes between 24-48 hours to be verified. After signing your team up for the verification, you would be asked to present some documents to prove that your team is registered before you proceed.
When asked how they felt about being verified, they responded by saying “Honestly, it’s not about who does it first, what matters is what we do with the verification; how far we can go, and how it helps others in the gaming industry. But I mean, seeing how we achieved this, we hope to see others step up”.
The first tournament Quintus Gaming would be playing in is the FIFAe Club Series, which will be played out in a remote online format with players competing from home in zone-based tournaments, featuring different zones and 12 Conferences all across the world. The peak event comes up in summer 2022 – where the best clubs will meet offline to decide who becomes the FIFAe Club Champion. They hope to be prepared before then seeing as they have adequate time to practice and learn new skills, they also assured us that they would try their best in pursuing greatness at the level which they just attained.
We at Nexal gaming community wish Quintus Gaming the absolute best as we hope to celebrate more victories with them. They also pose as an example to other Nigerian teams, urging them to step up their games and achieve whatever they set their minds to.
