The road to Synergy 2025 has officially begun! Today marks the commencement of the Engy Campus Qualifiers for the University of Ibadan, taking place at the iconic Bello Dome within the university premises. The excitement is already palpable as over 600 registered students, across 19 faculties and 115 departments, gear up to compete in one of the most anticipated campus Esports showdowns of the year.
This tournament is the University of Ibadan’s edition of the Engy Campus Clutch, doubling as the Esports version of the SEALS Cup. It’s a bold celebration of talent, tech, and teamwork, laying the groundwork for something even bigger – Synergy 2025.
COMICS, GAMES, AND ANIME (ATION) – these are the “holy trinity” of geek culture. While each has carved its own identity, their collective influence is undeniable. Now, for the first time in Ibadan, Comic Con Ibadan and Nexal Gaming Company are merging worlds to deliver an all-encompassing experience – Synergy 2025, set to hold on June 14, 2025, at Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan.
Comic Con Ibadan has long championed Afrocentric comics, animation, and the thriving Otaku community. Nexal Gaming Company, on the other hand, has been instrumental in building Africa’s gaming and Esports culture through tournaments, community development, and innovative marketing. Together, they’re creating a hybrid event where geeks and gamers unite in an electrifying fusion of pop culture and competitive spirit.
Synergy 2025 will not only be the next edition of Comic Con Ibadan – it will be a landmark moment for Nigeria’s youth culture, powered by the Engy tournament’s dynamic esports energy and the creative pulse of comic and anime fandom.
