Team Nigeria Secures Global Esports Games 2026 Ticket After Dominant MLBB African Regional Qualifiers Run

Nigeria's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) squad has officially secured its spot at the Global Esports Games 2026 in Los Angeles, topping the African Regional Qualifiers. 

The roster NERO, KAMILEVI, TATA, SUPERPANDA, KILR AIZEN, ANTIPIPE, and SUPERHATRED went through the continental bracket unbeaten before defeating Senegal in the grand final to claim the regional title.

The qualifiers pitted national MLBB squads from across Africa against one another for a limited number of Global Esports Games slots, played across region-spanning servers that forced teams to adapt to significant latency swings, a recurring hurdle in cross-border African esports competition. Team Nigeria treated the challenge as a training variable rather than an excuse, running extensive boot camp matches on the Europe server ahead of the tournament to acclimate to high ping before it could affect them on the official stage.

Preparation also extended to structured coaching, draft analysis, and extensive scrimmages against top continental rosters, including Senegal, who went on to meet Nigeria in the final. The team worked closely with a dedicated coach and analyst to break down opponents' playstyles, refine in-game rotations, and fix draft vulnerabilities before they could be exploited in competition. That prior scouting proved decisive: having already scrimmed against Senegal during camp, Nigeria anticipated their opponent's tactics in the title match and closed out the series to secure the regional crown.

"Our biggest challenge was playing on high MS due to different servers," a team representative said in an exclusive interview. "We played a lot of games on the Europe server to adjust to the high ping before the tournament even started.”
