Are you a stakeholder in the Interactive and Immersive Media industry? ( Games, Digital Art, and Extended Reality) Then prepare to attend Africa Comicade’s 4th Gamathon Event coming up this month in Lagos, Nigeria.
Africa Comicade is a platform that connects like minds in the Esports, Animation, Comic, Extended Reality, and Movie industries in Africa, presenting them with the opportunity to network and grow in their various niches.
The platform began in 2020 and has been at the forefront of promoting the talents of creatives in these industries by providing cutting-edge opportunities, recruitment, conferences, training, and gaming events such as the Gamathon.
The theme for this year’s Gamathon event is “Pathways” and activities will revolve around different ways in which the industry can evolve and grow. The event is set to begin on the 25th of September and last till the 30th of September, 2023.
It is a hybrid event, providing for interested participants around the world to engage in its various activities virtually, and will end with a physical event in Lagos, Nigeria.
This year’s Gamathon event will feature:
- A Panel Session where top people in the gaming industry will give tips and insights.
- A Tour of Lagos where you get to visit studios and top officials in government and Workshop
- A Pitch Competition where 15 game studios will pitch to have their games published and seek investments
- Exhibition and Prize-giving ceremony.
- Game Jam
- VIP Industry Night
- Film Screenings and lots more.
The 2023 Gamathon event has several sponsors and partners including Xbox, Women in Games, Gamr, Legends of Learning, Afrogamer, and The Nest, among others.
