Odunwire Allegedly Caught Hacking in 1v1 Battle

Share

For a man who has accumulated over 700 thousand followers, being the biggest CODM gaming content creator in Nigeria in 2024 according to Nexal Gaming. The news surrounding Odunwire is nothing to write home about. The news regarding Odunwire recently blew to so many areas like hacking and violence (asking his followers to mass report) and also woke up the dog that has been lying for many years, of him being a scammer.

Odunwire is the centre of attention now, not only in Nigeria but in the world. He shows that he can truly be the biggest in Africa, but the way he has proven this has tainted his image even more and reduced the trust people had in him. The noise around him has caused iFerg, who was a big supporter of Odunwire, to ban him in the ongoing tournament.

The Genesis: How did it all start?

In what seemed to be a peaceful tournament, a $_ tournament that was organized by iFerg to bring professional players from different countries and continents together. This is not the first time Ferg has extended his hands to the African community, due to this fact, some pro players (which included Odunwire) in Nigeria accepted the invite. As the game progressed, the eventual winners of the tournament, team Akman, were making progress and saw an opportunity to third party the fight.

Lotex, a member of team Akman and SlayeR’s teammate, was quoted saying “two teams are fighting.” SlayeR confirmed this by saying “free kills.”  This word was what triggered Odunwire, to the point where he challenged SlayeR to a 1v1.

Before SlayeR accepted the 1v1, he clarified what he meant by “free kills.” saying they had an advantage over those teams fighting because they could not shoot back. He proceeded to accept the challenge and asked for a time

Is Odunwire Hacking?

This accusation case is similar to that of a criminal case in the court of law. A suspect is only a person who has been charged to court but has not been proven to be guilty or innocent. In the case of Odunwire, some pro players have resulted in using the word “sus” (which stands for suspicious) rather than calling outrightly that the man in question is hacking. It can go without saying, that no court of law can say that Odunwire is a hacker except for Activision themselves.

Evidences presented: Are they enough?

The videos presented by SlayeR started from his 1v1 against Oduniwre. While they were still playing, SlayeR was down a few kills and started claiming he was suspicious of Odunwire’s play. He then tried using different ways to confirm if Odunwire was wall hacking by peeking from different angles, and SlayeR found him looking at where he was or even pre-firing before peeking behind the containers.

While they were at it, SlayeR kept asking his viewers if Odunwire was using a new account to make his suspicion stronger, which was confirmed that the account was not his original account.

SlayeR also analyzed the game after he was done with his views and answered some questions when he was asked if his opponent could have checked the stream to know where he was. SlayeR claimed that his stream had 20 secs delay and he had the silenced perk equipped, which meant the sounds would be reduced especially if the person does not sprint.

Few days after the news started going round, SlayeR released another video, which he claimed someone sent to him, the video showed Odunwire’s game crashing due to the hacks and he also ended the live stream immediately. This video caught the eyes of a lot of content creators including Ferg, the organiser of the event, and he ended up banning Odunwire from the tournament and future events too.

Other videos about past gameplays of Odunwire have started to resurface, an alcatraz clip of him using shotgun to aim, only for it to lock on the players head. Several people have also reminded the community that Odunwire used to sell hacks. All this evidence has left the call of duty mobile community divided and confused.

Rebuttals: Are they enough to beat the allegations?

However, Odunwire, who is the accused, has not come out to make a disclaimer video or proven in any way that he is not hacking. Since the claims against him have not been proven, he sees no reason to entertain the videos. His fans on the other hand have backed him up and resulting in various forms of actions to prove and show support for their idol.

Odunwire has claimed he has a good gaming headset that enables him to hear footsteps and instinctively know exactly where his opponents are. His fans have also latched on to this and used this against SlayeR when he claimed that he was using dead silence to reduce his footstep sound.

He has also been praised by his followers to have high gaming sense and that is why he easily pre-fires when slayer will peek from the containers or not.

Conclusion

The Call of Duty Mobile community is now in a tense state a knife could cut it, as Odunwire has given the go-ahead to his followers to mass report SlayeR, Lotex’s account. Also making threats to other content creators to avoid iFerg’s tournaments or they will get reported also, saying if he cannot play then nobody else can. It only leaves the onlookers asking when this will be resolved

The claims by SlayeR and other players, the videos and other means to pin hacking on Odunwire remains a speculation until proven otherwise. Odunwire on the other hand can make these claims go away by offering different means like device check and more to beat these allegations. With these two stand points, anyone can make their own judgement and until proven guilty, Odunwire’s gameplay remains SUS!
