The wait is almost over. The teams are set, the stage is ready, and the energy around Nigerian esports is at its peak. On Saturday, September 6th, 2025, the Nigeria Pro League (NPL) Season 8 Grand Finals will explode into action, one day, six matches, and the country’s very best going all in for glory.
NPLS8 grand final is the end of a grind that started back in March with the Harmattan Split. Dozens of teams stepped up, hungry to prove themselves. Weeks turned into months, battles turned into rivalries, and slowly the field was cut down. Now, only 16 teams remain, the ones tough enough, sharp enough, and determined enough to survive the journey. Each of them walks into the finals carrying more than just their own dreams, they carry the pride of their state, their fans, and every ounce of effort it took to get here.
Season 8 has been nothing short of a rollercoaster.
Now, after two demanding splits, only the strongest remain. Every finalist standing today has walked through fire to earn their place in the Grand Finals. And then there’s Athlegame Esports (Akwa Ibom) , the people’s choice. Voted in by the fans, they carry not just their own ambition, but the voice of the community that wanted them on this stage. Their inclusion is a reminder that NPL is built on more than competition alone , it’s built on passion, loyalty, and the power of the fans who make the scene what it is.
Date: September 6th, 2025

The formula is simple: six matches across six battlegrounds, one title, and a share of the massive ₦2 million prize pool. But the road to claiming it is anything but easy.
Here are the 16 teams ready to battle for glory and the title of Nigeria’s Esports Champions:

From Lagos to Rivers, Kwara to Borno, this year’s lineup showcases the true diversity of Nigeria’s growing esports ecosystem. What makes Season 8 even more exciting is that two of these finalists, Neon Rising (Ondo State) and 3 Crown Esports (Lagos State), will also go on to represent Nigeria at PMAC. Their presence in the Grand Finals not only raises the stakes but also gives other teams the perfect chance to test themselves against squads preparing for the international stage.

All eyes are locked on 1011 Gaming, the reigning kings from Lagos. Their victory in Season 7 raised the bar, but defending a title is a whole different battle, one that’s often tougher than winning it the first time.
This season, every finalist has them in their sights. 3 Crown Esports (Lagos State), Unsullied Army (Rivers State), with their trademark consistency, and 14th Gaming (Lagos State), who’ve been building dangerous momentum all year, are just two of the squads itching to knock them off their throne.Â
The tension is real. Months of training, setbacks, comebacks, and close calls have led to this one stage. On September 6th, the difference between glory and heartbreak will be decided in just six matches, and the margin has never been thinner.

The NPL has become one of Nigeria’s biggest esports leagues, consistently pushing the boundaries of competitive gaming in the country. Season 8 promises not just elite gameplay, but also an immersive experience packed with:
