My Journey Through GamrX3: The Exodus

As the sun dipped below the horizon on May 4th, 2024, I found myself immersed in the electric atmosphere of the Landmark Event Center in Lagos, Nigeria. This wasn’t just any evening; it was the culmination of months of anticipation, the crescendo of excitement, and the genesis of unforgettable memories. My Name is Bluestorm912, the Founder of Nexal Gaming Company (NGC), and on that fateful day, I had the distinct privilege of being present at one of the most anticipated Esports gaming events of the year: GamrX3: The Exodus.

Teaming up with Esports Africa News, we embarked on a mission to capture the essence of this thrilling event. Armed with cameras and microphones, we dove headfirst into the heart of the action, seeking out the luminaries of the gaming world for insightful interviews and captivating content.

But beyond the excitement of the event, this day held a deeply personal meaning for me. It was the first time I would meet my Nexal Gaming team in person after years of virtual interaction. These were not strangers but familiar voices and screen names I had come to know so well.

As I stepped into the venue, scanning the crowd for the faces I had only seen through a screen, there was a sense of anticipation mingled with familiarity. Familiar faces emerged from the sea of strangers: Sir_Benky, Bishop, HumanBot, Collins, Nosike, and Demax – my teammates, my friends.

In that moment, surrounded by the laughter and camaraderie of my Nexal family, I realized the true essence of Esports. It wasn’t just about competition or digital prowess; it was about the bonds we forged, the friendships we nurtured, and the shared dreams that propelled us forward.

One such encounter was with Sir_Benky, a dear friend and the visionary force behind Nexal Gaming’s technological endeavors. Our paths had crossed the previous night at Carven for the Industry Award Night, where Sir_Benky led me through the room, introducing me to luminaries like Oscar Mike, co-founder of Africa Comicade, and Edu Shola, founder of Deluxe Creation Studio.

As the event unfolded, I found myself immersed in a whirlwind of activity, capturing moments that would live on long after the final match had been played. The Mobile Gamer segment hosted by Infinix Mobile pulsated with energy, as gamers tested their skills against the backdrop of blazing speed and innovation. With camera in hand, I eagerly snapped photos, each frame capturing the essence of passion and dedication that defines the gaming ethos.

Amidst the flurry of activity, I had the opportunity to meet RVZMO, the mastermind behind NATO’s Call of Duty Mobile Esports team, and Indahizze, the driving force behind Rage Gaming’s CODM division. Their passion and commitment were evident as they led their teams through rigorous practice sessions, preparing them for the challenges ahead.

As GamrX3 unfolded, I found myself immersed in the vibrant crowd, navigating through a bustling sea of enthusiasts and luminaries. Each encounter was a testament to the rich tapestry of personalities that make up the gaming community. While some names stood out like Man like Priest, a prominent PUBG Mobile caster and manager of Sidizen Gaming, and Jesse, the visionary behind Unsullied Army, there were countless others whose faces and conversations left an indelible impression on me.

Among the throng of attendees, I crossed paths with Mr. Adebayo, the driving force behind 10n8e Esports, I had the pleasure of meeting Dom, the Community Manager at Carry1st and Damilola Pedro, a respected figurehead in the realm of partnerships at Gamr Africa. Their insights and expertise underscored the depth and breadth of talent present at GamrX3.

Yet, beyond these notable figures, there were countless others with whom I exchanged greetings and shared moments of camaraderie. While their names may elude me now, their enthusiasm and passion for gaming left an unmistakable mark, highlighting the diverse and interconnected nature of the gaming community.

With camera in hand, I captured the essence of the tournament as it unfolded before my eyes. From the intense PUBG Mobile matches to the thrilling Tekken championship, every moment was a snapshot of skill and determination. The energy of the audience pulsed through the venue, their cheers and applause echoing through the halls.

But it wasn’t just the action on stage that caught my attention. I also had the pleasure of meeting and photographing content creators such as KhalaManja, faruk,, Luchris from Pluto, Ivan, founder of Arudem Gaming. Their passion for gaming and creativity was infectious, and it was a privilege to capture a glimpse of their world.

This year’s edition, themed “Xhodus, the gaming way,” delivered an unforgettable pop culture experience for gamers and enthusiasts alike. Over the action-packed weekend, competitors battled fiercely across ten popular titles, with the following champions crowned:

  • PUBGM: 1011 from Nigeria
  • CODM: Sierra 7 from Nigeria
  • Apex Legends: FPC Apex Legends from Nigeria
  • Streetfighter 6: Bilal from Kenya
  • Tekken 8: SkyWalker from Ivory Coast
  • FreeFire: Batty Boys from Nigeria
  • Mortal Kombat 11: BabyFox from Ghana
  • EAFC24: Mitch from Nigeria
  • CandyCrush: Adetola Victoria from Nigeria
  • JustDance: Opeyemi Ibrahim from Nigeria

Each champion’s victory was a testament to their skill, dedication, and passion for gaming, showcasing the diverse talent present within the gaming community.

And so, as the final echoes of GamrX3 faded into the night, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of gratitude for the journey I had embarked upon. For me, Esports wasn’t just a pastime; it was a way of life—a journey filled with friendship, camaraderie, and the pursuit of shared dreams. In the end, GamrX3 was more than just a gathering of Esports enthusiasts; it was a celebration of friendship, collaboration, and the boundless potential of the human spirit. As I bid farewell to the Landmark Event Center, I carried with me not just memories, but the enduring bonds of camaraderie forged in the crucible of shared passion.
