The First Edition: Faruk Vs Killerfreak

The first edition for 2025 held during the month of February and it was a tournament worth watching. Faruk emerged as the winner with a thrilling final with Killerfreak.

There were playoffs before the round of 16. This enabled players like Wisemars, Stone to join the top seeded 8 players. The top seeds included Montana, Mitchel, Faruk and more. The pairings had the top seeded face the lower seeded players.

Wisemars was the only player out of the top seed to reach the semi finals and eventually falling short to Killerfreak in a match full of goals, an aggregate of 8 goals in the semi and 2 out of those were accrued to Wisemars.

Killerfreak did go on to the finals and had his own luck run out. Faruk Manzo, who won his semi final match against Rufai in a 4 to 1 match, had a not so comfortable win against Killerfreak in a 4-2 final.

2nd Edition: Killerfreak’s revenge

A question was asked after the first edition, questioning if Faruk could win the second edition. Killerfreak had the perfect answer to the question, which was, “No, he can’t”.

The stage was set, and the draws were made. Both Faruk and Killerfreak were at opposite sides of the table. It was left to each player to make it to the finals and for them to battle it out. Neither of them was disappointing in that aspect.

On the way to the finals, Killerfreak faced a highly formidable opponent, with each player banging in goals. His match against Rufai ended in 7-5 his favour. While on the other side of the tree, Faruk was climbing up and leaving his opponents to fall out.

When all was said and done. Both players met at the finals. Asides the both players being in the finals and the goal difference being the same. Those were the only similarities. The major difference could be seen in the change of champion. Killerfreak secured the championship with a final score of 5-3.

Wicked Wednesday is such a thrilling and entertaining event. Seeing top players go head to head shows how good the African EAFC players are. The event also keeps players in-tuned.
