​Enugu is stepping into the spotlight as a rising hub for digital creation and interactive media. The local gaming scene is set for a major leap forward as Yelobyte Studio hosts the Enugu Game Devs & Creatives GAME TEST on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, at the Blockchain Africa Hub, Enugu.

​Starting at 11:00 AM, this landmark gathering invites local game developers, animators, artists, programmers, and writers to showcase their projects, test prototypes, and gather crucial playtester feedback. But for the organizers, this event is far more than a local meetup; it is the opening chapter of a much larger mission.

​For Leslie, founder of Yelobyte Studio, launching this initiative in Enugu was the most authentic way to start.

​"Enugu is just Level 1! It’s our hometown and home base at Yelobyte Studio, so it’s only natural we drop our spawn point here," Leslie explained.

​However, creators outside Enugu won't have to wait long. The event is intentionally structured as a scalable blueprint designed to expand nationwide.

​"This is explicitly designed as the first of many chapter communities. We’re building a blueprint here that we plan to deploy across other states. So to anyone outside Enugu watching, stay tuned; we’re coming to your city soon."

​"By making game development visible, celebrated, and undeniable," Leslie shared when asked how the event will inspire upcoming talent. "Nothing inspires someone on the fence quite like seeing a peer from their own backyard showcase a working game and take home a major prize. When we celebrate the developers who are actively building right now, it strips away the myth that game dev is 'too hard' or 'only done abroad.' It proves to the next generation of tech enthusiasts that there’s a clear, viable pathway for them to build, launch, and thrive."

​While African culture continues to influence global music, fashion, and cinema, interactive media remains an untapped frontier for local creators. The vision behind this movement goes well beyond casual networking; it is about economic and creative empowerment.
