After four weeks of weekend fixtures in April, Rivers State Pro League Season 1 closed with Dexter finishing as champion and five players earning promotion to the Elite League.
The competition brought together 10 players in a fixed league format, with matches played across Saturdays and Sundays. Each player completed nine matches, using 95-rated teams and six-minute halves. By the end of the season, the table was split into two clear outcomes: the top five advanced to the Elite League, while the bottom five were relegated.
Dexter set the pace across the league, finishing top with 21 points and a competition-high seven wins. His consistency made him the player to beat throughout the season, even in a campaign where no result felt completely safe. He was joined in the promotion places by Doom, Peejay, Controller, and Funzy, with all five promoted players finishing on at least 15 points.
Peejay was the standout attacking force of the league, ending the season with 63 goals, the highest tally recorded in the competition. His 8–2 win over Dexter was one of the biggest statements of the season, proving how unpredictable the league could be even for the eventual champion.
El Dorado also produced some of the league’s most memorable moments, including a 5–2 win over Peejay and a 2–2 draw against Doom. But the strongest comeback story belonged to Controller, who lost his first three games before winning the rest of his fixtures to force his way into the promotion bracket.
At the other end of the table, Venom struggled to find form, finishing with just one win and the lowest points total of the season.
Beyond the results, the league gave Rivers State’s competitive Esports scene another structured platform to grow. Across the four weeks, fans came out to support players in person. Season 1 now sets a clear benchmark for the next stage of the Rivers State Pro League.
