10N8E Esports Announces Nigerian Pro League Season 9, Kicking Off July 8

10N8E Esports has confirmed the return of the Nigerian Pro League, with NPL Season 9 set to run across four weeks from July through August 2026. Qualifiers open the competition on July 8 and the season builds toward a Grand Finale LAN event in Lagos on August 8, closing out what is shaping up to be one of the more structurally ambitious seasons the league has run to date.

The season begins with qualifiers running July 8–14, spread across multiple lobbies of an estimated 32 to 48 teams each, playing four matches a day over two days per lobby. The top eight sides from each lobby will progress, bringing a combined 24 teams into the Group Stage, which unfolds across two windows, July 16–17 and July 21–24. There, three groups of eight will battle it out in round robin play, with the top eight overall advancing directly to the Finals and the bottom sixteen dropping into a Last Chance stage rather than being eliminated outright.

That Last Chance round, set for July 28–29, condenses the field into a single 16-team lobby playing six matches a day, with only the top seven surviving to join the Finals field. The Finals themselves run July 31 through August 2, bringing together the eight Group Stage qualifiers, the seven Last Chance survivors, and a sixteenth slot reserved for the defending champion, Neon Outlaws, who won NPL Season 8 and will defend that title directly on the final stage. Sixteen teams will then compete over three days at four matches a day, with the top finishers earning their place at the Grand Finale.

That Grand Finale, the marquee offline moment of the Nigerian Pro League calendar, is scheduled for August 8 and will be played on LAN, giving Season 9 a physical finish line after weeks of online competition. With points resetting at the start of each new stage, NPL Season 9 is built to reward consistency without letting an early slump end a team’s run, a format choice that should keep the qualifiers and group stage genuinely competitive all the way through.
